Description
- This large Navajo turquoise cluster bracelet appears to date to the 1930's. It is set with three rounds of teardrop shaped turquoise stones surrounding a small round turquoise stone. The turquoise is blue, with some dark matrix, but a number of the stones have turned green with age. Each stone is set in a handmade plain bezel. There is twisted wire between the outermost rows.
- The bracelet itself is a triple split shank, with the ends finished with simple silver terminals on the inside. The construction of the bracelet is unusual, with three narrow silver plates nailed to the silver plate containing the turquoise. The nail heads appear as silver beads in front.
- The inside measurement is 5-1/8 inches, with a 1-1/4 inch gap, for a total of 6-3/8 inches. There is very little flexibility for adjustment of the size. The bracelet measures 2-5/8 inches, top to bottom, at the center, and weighs 80 grams (2.9 ounces).
- The bracelet is unmarked and not signed, has a wonderful vintage patina and is in excellent condition.
