Description
- This large old Navajo manta pin pendant has four turquoise stones and came from dead pawn. The stones at each end are teardrop shaped and are the largest, each measuring about 1" wide. The other stones are vertical ovals. The turquoise is a lovely blue with a highly irregular, pitted surface, with a large tan pitted area on one of the large side stones. Each stone is set in a toothed bezel.
- Each stone has its own applied silver border around it, with detailed stamping. There is an elaborate heavy frame around the edges of the pin pendant composed of thick applied crescent moon shapes and silver balls.
- This great old Navajo sterling silver pin pendant measures 3-7/8" wide by 1-3/8" high, and weighs 30 grams. The pinback features an old style hinge and a locking C-clasp. There is a bale on each end at the back, which would allow this pin to be worn as a long pendant. This Navajo sterling silver pin pendant has a substantial weight to it for its size.
- This pin is unmarked sterling. The name Elaine Kanesto is scratched into the back. This may be the name of a former owner rather than the silversmith. Apart from some tarnish and a few scratches to the back, this Navajo sterling silver pin pendant is in great condition.
