Description   Description This is a very large handmade Navajo sterling silver and turquoise belt buckle by noted contemporary artist Ida Payton. The buckle is rectangular and is set with an oval Chinese turquoise stone with spider web matrix. There is repousse work around the stone and detailed, concho style hand stamping all around the buckle. The edges of the buckle are scalloped. This handsome buckle measures 4 inches wide by 3-3/8 inches high, and weighs a hefty 118 grams (4.2 ounces). It is slightly convex and will accommodate a belt of up to 1-1/2 inches wide. The buckle is marked sterling and signed Ida Payton. It is in new and never worn condition.
