Description
- A beautiful Navajo concho belt with turquoise by noted Navajo artist Kirk Smith. This showpiece brown leather Navajo concho belt is 50 inches long and features a matching buckle, 5 conchos, and 6 butterfly conchos, with sterling silver overlay, granulated, stamp, and cluster design with turquoise stones.
- The turquoise is blue green with some tan and smoky matrix. Each stone is set in a plain bezel.
- The buckle, and each concho, is circular in shape with a single turquoise stone in the center, and measures 3 1/4" in diameter. Each butterfly concho is 2 1/2" long by 1 1/2" wide and also features a single turquoise stone in the center. The conchos are all leather backed, protecting the wearer from discomfort from pointed or angular edges, and protecting clothing from any silver tarnish marks from the silver conchos. Each concha has copper loops soldered to the back of the concho allowing the concho to be strung on belt leather. This belt has two loops per concho to assure they remain properly aligned on the belt.
- This Navajo concho belt is marked sterling silver and signed Kirk Smith. Apart from a bit of tarnish, this wonderful Navajo concho belt is in excellent condition.
