Description
- This great vintage Navajo silver concho belt came out of dead pawn. It features a large, rectangular buckle and 9 oval conchos.
- The buckle measures 3-7/8 inches long by 3 inches high. The buckle has repousse work at the top and bottom, delicate hand stamping and scalloped sides.
- Each oval concho measures 3/3/4 inches long by 3-1/8 inches high, and has a diamond shaped cutout in the center, hand stamping around the cutout and around the outside, and scalloped edges. Each concho has copper loops soldered to the back of the concho allowing the concho to be strung on belt leather.
- The black leather belt measures 49 inches long by 3-3/8 inches wide. The conchos are threaded on a narrower, 1-1/2 inch wide strip of leather at the back, which is woven through vertical slits in the wide leather belt, and which extends out about 2-3/4 inches beyond the end of the wide leather to fit into the buckle.
- There are no markings. There is a bit of tarnish but otherwise this great old Navajo silver concho belt is in excellent condition.
