Description
- This beautiful, contemporary one of a kind Navajo pin pendant with turquoise was made by Rebecca Begay. The piece was made using the Tufa casting technique. This process, similar to sandcasting, produces an interesting pebbled texture which beautifully complements the fan design.
- There is a beautiful blue turquoise stone with dark matrix set in the center of the top fan shape. There are two silver dangles, which look like earrings, hanging from the top shape, and a fan shape dangle hanging at the bottom.
- The pin measures 2 inches high by 2 inches wide and has a substantial weight to it. On the back is a generous bale measuring about 1/4 inch which would allow this piece to be worn as a pendant on a chain or cord.
- This lovely pin pendant is in new and never-worn condition. It is signed RB, for Rebecca Begay. Rebecca Begay is a noted contemporary Navajo silversmith, and a Best in Show prize winner at Santa Fe Indian Market in both 2008 and 2009, who specializes in Tufa casting work.
