Description
- This is an older, wide Navajo bracelet set cluster style with 23 large pieces of blue turquoise. The turquoise has irregular, pitted surfaces and is light blue, with some of the pieces turning greenish. Each piece is set in a handmade plain bezel. The large (5/8 inch diameter) round center piece of turquoise is surrounded by twisted wire.
- The main turquoise cluster is set in a large circle adorned with a notched silver rim. There is a triangular plaque to each side of the center circle, also decorated with a notched silver rim and with silver balls.
- The bracelet itself is a split shank with four flat wires, capped at the ends.
- The inside measurement is 5-5/8 inches, with a 1 inch gap, for a total of 6-5/8 inches. There is very little flexibility for adjustment of the size. The bracelet measures 2-1/8 inches, top to bottom, at the center, and weighs 82 grams (2.9 ounces).
- The bracelet is unmarked except for some scratched markings on the inside, probably an old trading post or pawn code. There is some evidence of well-healed repairs at the back. The bracelet has a nice vintage patina and is in excellent condition.
