Description
- An unusual oval Washo polychrome basket from the Carson City, Nevada area- circa 1900's. Red triangles are featured at the center of the basket and black rectangles at the ends. Tightly woven, single rod foundation with tight coils. In excellent condition.
- 4 1/2" high x 7 1/4" long x 5 3/4" wide.
- Materials are willow, bracken fern root and rosebud.
- The Washo are part of the Great Basin tribes. The Great Basin tribes are known for finely coiled baskets that rival the best California and Southwest baskets.
