Description
- This charming cockatiel was carved by Hudson Sandy of Picasso marble in shades of taupe, brown, black, grey and white. The cockatiel is carved with the realism and attention to detail which are characteristic of this artist. The bird sits on a rock, its head alert and looking slightly to one side. Its feathers are indicated with intricate carving. It has a hooked beak, turquoise eyes and a long tail.
- The cockatiel measures 1-3/4 inches high by 1-3/4 inches wide by about 3/4 inch thick, and has a substantial weight to it for its size. It is signed H. Sandy, Zuni.
